4-star SF Coen Carr “trending” toward Spartans

4-star SF Coen Carr "trending" toward Spartans

Michigan State’s 2023 basketball class is already packed, but it could soon add another four-star to small forward Coen Carr.

Shortly after Gehring Normand signed on for Michigan State basketball, he hopped on an Instagram Live with fellow players Jeremy Fears and Xavier Booker.

The three talked about their excitement for the future and how they plan to win a national title at East Lansing, but then invited a special guest to speak. Coen Carr appeared in the fourth window and the other three immediately got to work. They were in his ear to join them so they could do something special together.

Carr was quiet and just laughed it off. He didn’t say much.

A few days later, he announced a day of commitment on August 9. Are these two situations related? Probably not completely, but the trio of Spartan promises in his ear may have had an impact one way or another.

The South Carolina four-star will choose from the likes of Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Indiana as well as Michigan State and if early predictions hold true, it looks like the Spartans are the trending team for him a few days before his official decision.

According to On3, the state of Michigan leads with 90% of the forecast and Tennessee second with just over 3%. He also received a FutureCast on Rivals to Michigan State on Saturday morning. Although 247Sports doesn’t have any crystal balls for him yet, it looks like Michigan State is the current program with all the momentum.

Michigan State’s class may soon grow to four and become something truly special.
