Celebrity MasterChef 2022: Jimmy Bullard and Faye Winter latest celebrities to be eliminated from semi-finals of BBC cooking show

The much-loved celebrity cooking show returned to our screens in early August, with former Wigan Athletic midfielder Bullard taking on the likes of Chris Eubank and Kitty-Scott Claus.

Semi-finals week kicked off on September 6 last Tuesday with the celebrities pulling out all the stops to impress Gregg Wallace and John Torode.

Former footballer and TV presenter Jimmy Bullard is the latest celebrity to be eliminated for Celebrity MasterChef 2022.

The Birds of a Feather actress bit the dust and was dropped from the show.

Tonight’s first episode saw the seven celebrities, including Kitty-Scott-Claus and Bullard, go head-to-head with someone at risk of quitting the competition.

The semi-finals proved too far for the Soccer AM presenter, however, after he was rejected for undercooked potatoes.

The second episode will then see the remaining six celebrities cook a single dish for the brief “comfort food for one” delivered by famed restaurant critic Grace Dent.

The episode saw one more person leave the competition ahead of finals week.

The unlucky contestant missing out was Faye Winter, a reality TV star and influencer who is best known for appearing on Love Island last year.

Who is Jimmy Bullard?

Jimmy Bullard was born in East Ham, London in 1978 and is known for his football career, making 145 appearances for Wigan Athletic and helping the team secure promotion to the Premier League in 2004/2005. However, he may be remembered for his recent television appearances and as a pundit.

He began his football career at a non-Corinthian league club before being signed at the age of 21 for his boyhood club West Ham United. Bullard failed to break into the team and left the club for Peterborough in 2001.

After an impressive spell at Posh, Bullard caught the eye of Championship side Wigan Athletic. He signed a deal with the club worth £275,000.

He enjoyed a successful spell at Wigan Athletic, helping the side gain promotion from the Championship to play in a League Cup final against Man United.

Bullard moved to Fulham where he spent a lot of time injured and much of his two-season spell was gone the first time around. Despite this, he won a move away from the club for £5million.

Bullard finished his football career at Hull, Ipswich Town and Milton Keynes Dons. He has since appeared on football-based shows such as Soccer AM and Goals on Sunday – the first of which he now co-hosts.

In 2014 Jimmy Bullard appeared in the fourteenth series of I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here.
