At halftime in the first “Sunday Night Football” game of the 2022 NFL season, the visiting Tampa Bay Buccaneers lead the host Dallas Cowboys 12-3.

Tampa moved the ball with relative ease throughout the half, averaging 6.4 yards per play. But the Bucs saw each of their first three drives sink deep into Dallas territory before getting settle for field goal attempts – one of which was Ryan Succop hanging on the left. The Cowboys didn’t do much offensively after their first practice, recording three straight outs before Dak Prescott was knocked out by Antoine Winfield Jr. deep in Dallas territory.

But with a chance to score the game’s first touchdown, the Bucs again had to settle for a field goal after Micah Parsons picked up his second sack of the game – both on third down plays inside the 10 meter line. Dallas responded by quickly returning the ball to the Bucs, who put themselves in scoring position on their final halftime practice thanks to a monster catch on the right sideline by Julio Jones. But the Bucs stalled again and settled for their fourth basket of the contest.
