On Sept. 9, the NBCUniversal streamer landed a “dark and comedic murder mystery anthology series” titled The show must continue, E! News can confirm. Each season will take place in the days leading up to a major live TV event – and the premiere happens to be a fictionalized version of the world-famous musical, The Phantom of the Opera.

The first season takes place behind the scenes during a fictional staging of the musical. According to the Project Peacock logline, The Phantom of the Opera’The cast and crew will not only have to put together a giant live production of the beloved musical, but also deal with “endless production issues, warring stars, growing pressures on the network and , oh yes, the horrific and untimely death of one of the leads.”
