San Jose Hockey Now is looking for a Writer for the San Jose Sharks!

SJHN is looking for a writer who can work with Editor-in-Chief Sheng Peng. This writer can capture the interest of Sharks fans, no matter what the topic. These stories will include, but not be limited to:

  • Reports on the performance of Sharks players on the ice and their lives off the ice
  • Shark Reviews
  • Team Analysis
  • Interviews
  • Latest news and more!

This position is paid. It is preferred, but not required, that you live in the Bay Area. Accreditation through San Jose Hockey Now for San Jose Sharks and San Jose Barracuda events is at the publisher’s discretion, but is a possibility.

Besides scope, SJHN is looking for a Sharks Writer who has:

  • Rock-Solid San Jose Sharks and General Hockey Knowledge
  • A flexible schedule
  • Willingness to take direction on stories
  • A penchant for quickly writing clear and lively texts
  • Experience in preparing and conducting in-person or telephone interviews
  • Ability to quickly transcribe interviews
  • The maturity to act professionally at all times in a non-traditional work environment
  • Social media expertise, particularly with Twitter
