Steelers at Bengals score: Live updates, game stats, highlights, analysis for Week 1 AFC North showdown

CINCINNATI — There’s a possible upset brew in Cincinnati. The visiting Steelers, aided by four turnovers from the Bengals, took a 17-6 lead over defending champions AFC at halftime.

Pittsburgh’s defense recorded three first-half interceptions against Joe Burrow, including Minkah Fitzpatrick’s 31-yard pick in the opening minutes of the game. The Steelers extended their lead to 17-3 after Mitch Trubisky hit Najee Harris on a one-yard touchdown pass midway through the second quarter. The score was set by Burrow’s interception by TJ Watt, who prior to Sunday’s game had never thrown multiple interceptions in the first half.

Cincinnati’s best performer in the first half was running back Joe Mixon, whose 31-yard run on a fourth-and-one play set up Evan McPherson’s second field goal just before halftime. Mixon rushed for 67 yards on 15 carries in the first 30 minutes of the game. The Bengals suffered a loss when receiver Tee Higgins left the game after being hit hard. Higgins came out with a concussion.
