‘The Mandalorian’ Season 3 Trailer Debuts At Disney’s D23 Expo

Disney has released the first trailer for Season 3 of The Mandalorian at D23 on Saturday. The next episode of Disney+’s flagship Star Wars series starring Pedro Pascal will air in February 2023.

Panelists included Giancarlo Esposito, who plays villainous Moff Gideon, and filmmaker Rick Famuyiwa, who has been on the show since season one.

“It’s been a dream of mine since I saw the movie for the first time, the first movie I’ve ever seen in the cinema,” Famuyiwa said, noting that Star Wars “shaped me as a person and filmmaker”.

It’s been almost two years since The Mandalorianwhich comes from executive producers Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, concluded the second season in 2020. Meanwhile, several Star Wars spinoffs, including Obi Wan Kenobi and Boba Fett’s Book hit the streaming service.

The third season will be the first since Lucasflim cut ties with Gina Carano, the controversial actor who played Cara Dune for two seasons before being fired for insensitive tweets in February 2021.

The Mandalorian is just one of many upcoming Star Wars shows, including Andorwhich will be released later this month.
